arrangement of letters on two hdd
Hi everyone!
I have two hdd on my system with following partitions: C(primary partition),D (logical partition) on first hdd and G (logical partition) on second hdd. Total commander display this partiton like this: C,D,E,F,G (E,F are CD-ROM drives).
My question is if there a way to change arrangement that i can have C,D,E - hdd and F,G - CD-ROM drives.
Thank you!

Hello ! Welcome on board !
- If you mean the drive-buttons, or the drives in the drive-comboboxes, TC displays them always following the alphabetical order…
- However, in the next version, you'll be able to use another way to get the drives, and to display them in the order you want

Win gives letters

- The drive-letters are assigned by Windows, not by TC !
- I don't think that you could change this in anyway…
- Adding some hint texts is possible, though; just add in your <wincmd.ini> :
• One line with a drive letter for each drive you want for rename /comment.

Hi Roman !
- When you have only a single HD >> C: , the A: floppy and a single CD-Drive { D: }, please let me know where you can find any command to change the drive-letters in Win 98 SE…

Thanks, that is what I know. I did hope that Roman knows a way to change HD drive letters.CoMiKe wrote:AFAIK, in Win9x you can only remap CD-ROM drive letters, ...
It can be done in the cd-rom device properties window (My PC-> Properties).
