I work a lot with large zip files that are stored on network drives. I have often seen that if I am browsing such a zip file (no problem with that) and then back out of it using the backspace key I end up in the temporary directory on the C: drive instead of in the directory where the zip file is stored.
The problem seems to occur if I have been viewing a file in the archive (unpack and execute). It does not happen if I press backspace just once - in that case TC shows the correct directory after an almost unnoticeable delay. However, if I press backspace twice very quickly (to go to the parent folder of the one where the archive is stored), TC displays the temporary directory where the file I viewed was extracted to (c: drive)
This is not something new, I have seen it with many subsequent versions of TC and on different PCs and on WinNT, W2K and XP.

As workaround:
Use instead of [backspace] either [F2] or [Ctrl]+[R] for reread drive.
It has the same effekt without the disadvantage.

You are right - it is possible to use F2 or CTRL-R as a workaround. I would, however, love to know if it is something that can/will be solved because for me personally I find using backspace is the most intuitive and I know for a fact that I will forget to use F2 most of the time. Old habits die hard!

Hello All !- To land in the Temp dir. is always exasperating !
- I would prefer that the Author could fix up this one good time for ever !
- Using simply [••] should be much more instinctive, and I howl each time it doesn't work in archives, like you tell…
Hence, I support +++ all improvements requests !

IMHO backspace should work like [F2] or [Crtl]+[r] or [Alt]+[left]. If I would end up in the temp-dir I would use my button with: "cd %temp%"
That works under win3.1 as well as under XP.
