Chopped icons on dark mode if bar is too tall

Hi
I'm using TC 9.51 32-bit on Windows 10 x64 1909.
On dark mode, if I click on a really tall sub-bar icon of the main bar, the sub-bar shows up, but all the icons on the sub-bar shows chopped (left half of icons won't show up, right half of the icons show up). It only happens on really tall bars, the ones that reach all the vertical screen resolution (when a tiny arrow button appears at the bottom of the bar).
The icons will show up if I hover the mouse pointer over them.
This behaviour is only happening on dark mode.
Regards!

Hmm I cannot reproduce this - here is how a tall sub-bar looks like in my TC 9.51 32bit under Windows 10 1909:

What is your setting for bar icons - size, XP style, Flat icons, Small icons (size) ?
(when a tiny arrow button appears at the bottom of the bar).
I don't experience that for buttonbars - here they just wrap into a second column.
I see the tiny arrow for tall main MENU items though - see:
https://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/tallsubmenudarkmode.png - but still the icons are show OK.

Here's a video showing this strange behaviour:
https://youtu.be/n31AjT0NdLg
My settings for the main bar and the "buggy" bar are the same: XP style ON, flat icon ON and small icons ON (size: 16).
I've tried every possible setting combination, but nothing worked.
Maybe the problem is when that little arrow button appears at the top and bottom of the bar to allow the scrolling. I couldn't find an option to disable this and wrap to a second column

Does it exist? Where I can find it?
Thanks for your answer!

Does it happen if you use a clean wincmd.ini file (except for setting dark mode and your current buttonbar)?

I just tried using a fresh wincmd.ini file, set TC to dark mode and changed my main bar.
The results are the same: chopped icons on that particular sub-bar which it exceeds the screen resolution.
Is there a setting to make the sub-bars wrap to columns instead of scrolling up/down?
Thanks!

I've also tried deleting the "too tall" bar .br2 icon cache file, so it self-regenerates, but same results
The .br2 file of that bar was automatically recreated but the icons still show chopped.

Not that I know of - and I have never seen the behavior that you see...

I was searching for a setting like this. I've only found "BarLimitLines", which I set to 0 and 1, closing TC on each test, but nothing changed
[Buttonbar]
BarLimitLines=0
[Buttonbar]
BarLimitLines=1
Also I tried hiding the vertical bar (as an old reported bug I've found), but couldn't make it to work fine.

I have never seen a behavior for TC sub-menu bars like in your video (with the little scroll buttons).
Since you already tried with a fresh wincmd.ini without success, it makes me guess that you either have some 3rd-party desktop utility or made some Windows 10 setting (or registry tweak) that influences how popup menus are being rendered. But i don't really know, so...
If you have the opportunity, try installing a clean Windows 10 with default settings inside a virtual machine. Then copy your TC installation including your TC settings and menu bars over into the VM and see if this behavior is still reproducible in a clean, unmodified Win10 installation.

That's what I have been wondering too.

Thanks for the tip.
I tested TC 9.51 on my other computers. One of them has a fresh Windows 10 x64 installation. So, it has no 3rd party software installed. The problem persist.
But, I found a pattern: the icon bars shows in one column ONLY when the screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. If I lower the resolution the bar shows in two columns and the icons are fine!
Is it a bug then?

screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels
My screen resolution is also 1920 x 1080 - but is on my main Window 7 computer - so maybe it is not comparable with your windows 10.
On my Windows 10 computer it is only 1366x786 - so I cannot test higher resolution there.
Do you use any Windows scaling when you are running in 1920 x 1080 pixels?
If anybody feel like testing under Windows 10, in high resolution, here is a long button bar for testing:

2petermad:
No scaling at all, just plain 100%.
Curious thing: In the same (original) computer in which I've seen this behaviour I have three monitor displays. Depending on which one I put TC the bar shows just one column (and the icons on it chop) or not:
Display 1) 1280 x 1024: TC long button bar works fine.
Display 2) 1920 x 1080: TC long button bar fails.
Display 3) 1680 x 1050: TC long button bar works fine.
All these tests are in the same running instance of TC. No TC close at all!
Really strange.

Could you check if there is an update for your video driver?

Yes, but it is not driver related.
On my desktop computer (NVIDIA GeForce / driver version 442.50) at 1920 x 1080 the problem show up. (If i lower the resolution the bars work fine)
On my laptop computer (Intel Graphics HD 4000) at 1920 x 1080 the problem show up. (If i lower the resolution the bars work fine)
On another computer (1368x720) the problem won't show up.
On another computer, connected to a 4K TV display (2160p resolution) the problem won't show up.
I think it is more a resolution related problem.
