looking for a encryptor plugin 64bit/32bit

Post by *giulia »

hi
i'm looking for an encryptor plugin for total commander ,i would like AES-256 , 64bit and or 32bit , for my portable version on my usb stick

i don't want a 7-zip encrytor and i'm looking for an encryptor that keep my tc 64/32bit portable , not a plugin the leave files or registry keys

DarkCrypt IV seems the abandonware and not portable and buggy at page 13 there is bug: Image: Any%20password%20can%20decrypt%20encrypted%20files https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18909&sid=1732f77fb314a29f965320f49de168a0&start=180

AES plugin 0.6.3 [64-bit port] it's abandonware too ,it's slow and maybe buggy

i know tc author can not develop a encrytor ,but i'm really bored to use 7-zip or true/veracytp , often i have to use on diffenrent computers

thanks
love Total Commander , best file manager ever made

Why do you need a TC plugin ?
You can use AES Crypt and make a button to invoke it.
https://www.aescrypt.com/download/
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3374)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.69
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

For me the AES plugin 0.6.3 [64-bit port] runs fine.
From where do you get the info that it may be buggy ?
The author of the x64 port only said you should be careful.
I tested it with a mix of many files and dirs and it never failed.
Also the speed to encrypt an large xml file of 250MB in about 2 minutes is ok for me.

Two minutes to encrypt 250 MB is OK?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

That was only a test with one large file.
Normally I encrypt small PDFs or complete dirs with many small files.
Then the speed is fine at least for me.
Also a lot of encryption is done automatically in the background for certain dirs
and these are encrypted with 7zip encryption

hi
but there are 2 plugins
can i ask 2 questions?
about AES plugin 0.6.3 plugin ,does it use AES-256 or?
and the plugin is perfecly portable without leaving regkeys ?

and there is a second plugin DarkCryptTC IV that support AES-256 (i guess the most advacenced encryption ), same author ,seems buggy at leat reading the forum

The AES plugin Encrypt/decrypts files with 128bit key using password or keyfile.
I don't see any registry entries for it.

I will not even try DarkCryp because it uses some strange emulation to support x64 TC.

I would add a button requesting for a password and executing 7-Zip (no compression, just encryption) if I needed an encryption tool, it is always installed and it doesn't require TC/plugin/special tool for decryption. I really don't think that a plugin may be more convenient because it will require more steps for encryption (at least opening pack dialog and selection proper plugin) and same step for decryption.

How to create encryption and decryption buttons so that the interaction of the password prompt is required along the way?
