cm_SrcThumbs changes current sort order

Whenever the command cm_SrcThumbs is used while a user defined view mode is active
the sort order from this view mode is not applied to the thumbs view.
For me this is a bug, the current sort oder should not be changed by switching to thumbs view.

Sorry, you cannot keep the sort order when switching from custom columns view to thumbs view because the custom columns change - they are used for the data shown below the thumbs. Unfortunately you can't sort by that data either.

Aha, you are setting both Thumbnail view AND Custom Columns view with the same ViewMode - I can confirm that it doesn't work - I see the Custom Columns being set with the correct sort order, but then immediately after the Custom Columns are removed and the sorter order is set to Name.

But if I manually try to use a Custom Columns view when in Thumbnail view, then the view is also no longer showing thumbnails - it is simply not possible to use Custom Columns view and Thumbnail view at the same time - so when cm_SrcThumbs is effectuated, the columns are set back to standard (as for Full view), and since standard columns don't have the Exif_Image_DateTime column to sort by (in your case), the sorting is set to Name.

If the sorting in the View Mode setup had been set to for example Size, then the sorting will still be used when cm_SrcThumbs is effectuated, because the standard columns has a Size column.

Thanks for the check.

For me, the current status is as follows:

1.   There is no bug in TC.
1.1  It is currently not possible in TC to sort the thumbnails by a "Exif_Image_DateTime",
       namely e.g. in connection with a View mode and Auto Switch mode -> "It works as designed in TC".
1.2  Please note that such a combination - as shown in the picture - is not allowed in a View mode.
1.3  Alternatively, one can currently use IrfanView, where there are 12 sorting criteria, only for thumbnail sorting.

2.    A proposal could be made in the forum "TC suggestions (English). It is questionable whether it will make it onto the "wish list".
