Can someone confirm this Windows 11 bug for me?
  • Open Explorer
  • Navigate to a folder
  • Enter a search text at the top right and hit Enter
  • Click Search options (used to be called Search Tools)
  • Click "Date modified" or "Kind" or "Size"
  • The menu options are all disabled, but only the first time I open the menu.
BTW, there is another bug when searching for properties. The property values are not translated to local language. Link

Code: Select all

C:\Windows
C:\Windows\System32
C:\Windows\System32\OpenSSH\
C:\Windows\System32\wbem
C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\

They are only duplicated if you use the set tool to show them.
The duplicates come from the %SystemRoot% entries which are translated by the set command.
See my path content:

Uh, no they are not.
For me set shows the %SystenRoot% related entries resolved and therefore duplicated.
Using a specalized tool to edit the environment varables the entries are shown unresolved.

They are not resolved by set, they are resolved before that. They are also resolved when you look at the environment of the process of Total Commander.

When using sysdm.cpl / Advanced /Environment Variables / System variables / Path / Edit on my system, there were no %SystenRoot% related entries, but really duplicates. So in my case there really were duplicates in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment.

I had used this button for the query and found no duplicates.
(I took the button from some forum post).

Code: Select all

TOTALCMD#BAR#DATA
cmd
/k set
%COMMANDER_EXE%,2
List environment variables TC can see|Ausstieg aus DOS-Fenster: exit <ENTER>

Code: Select all

C:\Windows\System32\OpenSSH\;
C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;
C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;
