1. Do you see this gap after an x for all exe files, or only for this particular exe file in your screenshot?

2. Create a file (for testing). Name it "exe.txt". Do you see the the gap after the x for either or both the "exe" name and the "txt" extension?

3. What happens if you choose a different font for the file list (just for troubleshooting), for example Tahoma with a size of 9? Can you then still see the gap after the x? Does anything change if you change the script of the file list font to Western (again, just for troubleshooting)?

It looks like your MS Word is zoomed in - Try to zoom to 100% - then I'll bet it will look the same as in your TC.

BTW - are you aware that there is a Turkish language file for TC - https://plugins.ghisler.com/languages/wcmd_tur.zip

"then I'll bet it will look the same as in your TC" >>>No. I did zoom it for you to see comfortably.

"are you aware that there is a Turkish language file for TC" >>>it has nothing to do with turkish

I found the cause of the problem. Problem is Windows 10.

Could you please provide a screenshot from and un-zomed MS Word.
"are you aware that there is a Turkish language file for TC" >>>it has nothing to do with turkish
I didn't say that it had - that is why I started the sentence with "BTW" - it was just a friendly information.
I found the cause of the problem. Problem is Windows 10.
I would rather say that it is a problem in the Segoe UI font - I see the same malposition of x'es in Windows 7...

Enabling ClearType should help here. With it, texts are smooth on the screen and look much more pleasant, especially in case of small font sizes. You can enable ClearType e.g. by launching cttune.exe from Win+R or taskbar search.
When I disable ClearType on my machine, I also see such gap in "exe", mostly because first two "e" and "x" are placed too close to each other (it seems that "e" has a gap before the glyph and no gap after it, and "x" has a gap only after the glyph, so "ex" looks tight but "xe" looks wide).

While the intention may have been good, zooming doesn't help. On the contrary. Font kerning and gaps between letters change with different font sizes but also when zooming text. Text at 100% zoom can't be compared to text with a different zoom level (larger or smaller), even if they're using the same font and size.

MS Word and several other Microsoft programs (Internet Explorer) have font smothing turned on even if it is turned of for the system, so that is probably why it looks better in MS Word than in TC and Windows Explorer.
