About option -Always show hidden directory "AppData"-

This seems to work fine only under the logged-in user's profile folder. Why not in other user folders though? Personally due to my work's nature, i login to different PCs via UNC paths, and in those, the AppData folder is also hidden and unfortunately not visible in TC. Could this option be expanded to include AppData under all user folders please? I think i understand most of the problems that may arise, but i believe such an option would be useful.

Why don't you just enable viewing hidden and system files in TC's Display configuration - I can see AppData folder for other users on other PC's in my Network when that is enabled.

Was thinking along those lines as well. Or just change into that directory when you know it's there, either per "cd" in TC's command line or appending the path in the path bar.

What i do now is to "unhide" all AppData directories i want to work with (if i know it won't be a one-time thing). It's better this way because i don't like "Show hidden files" very much, most of them are unwanted. Since Christian though has added this wonderful option, i was wondering, "why not expand it?". That's why i made this request.

I know that it's easy and safe to find "%HOMEPATH%\AppData" and make it visible, but other folders will not be so easy and perhaps might raise some security issues, however i believe it would be useful.

It would have sense to add the selectable option like this:
Show AppData dir even when hidden files are disabled
( ) never
(o) for current profile
(default setting)
( ) for all user profiles
or at least add such option to wincmd.ini

This is done only for not so advanced users who want to find their settings but can't because hidden/system files are disabled by default.

I prefer also to see an option where I can decide whether to show "AppData" folder or not. Like it was before in 9.x version. Please add this option back

I don't want to see this folder at all. Why was it made visible regardless of the "hidden" attribute? If its "hidden" it should be hidden, no? :)
If someone wants to make it visible for whatever reason, just remove the "hidden" attribute from the folder.

I'm agree. There should be a choice to hide or make it visible.

@Wanderer, you can do this already: Go to Configuration > Options > Display and tick Show hidden files, untick Show system files. There is no need to display AppData all the time. I personally hate this function, as it cannot be turned off.

Removed resizing of the entire text to 150%.
Please don't use resize for the sole purpose of drawing attention to the entire text.

Thanks, i already know that. The proposal was made for people like me, who do not wish to have Hidden files shown all the time. Also, manually removing Hidden attribute from folders is time-consuming, unnecessary for an admin and perhaps unwanted by the end-users.

I think it's about 4 years now and is still no change. You simply must see AppData folder no matter what. No option to handle it as normal other hidden file/folder. I have Show/hide system files mapped to key shortcut so its the matter of milliseconds to show or hide system files. It's the first thing I setup after I install Total Commander. But app data folder is not affected by it and must have it in the list of folders permanently. Just think about that. Do normal users like your moms and dads know how to use this folder? No! This folder is accessed by advanced users and these users know how to show it and hide it again. I love Total Commander. I really do. I use it every day, all day. For all these years I stayed in version 9.51 which was the last version that worked fine for me. Everything was under control. No annoying folders in the list. Just what you want to see, you see. And if you want to see more, just press (Ctrl+Shift+H - my mapping for show hide command) and you see all. Today I tried to install 11.03 version and to my big surprise - it's still there and I still can't hide it? OMG! To me Total Commander is dead. I'll continue using 9.51 version till my last days or move to another file manager. I heard File Explorer is getting better and better

Please read the Help (section 4b):
Help wrote:AlwaysShowAppdata=1 If 1, the directory c:\users\<username>\Appdata is always shown even if it has the attribute "hidden" and the display of hidden files is disabled
So just upgrade to v. 11.03 and put AlwaysShowAppdata=0 in the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file.

This option has been available since TC 10.50beta1:
history.txt wrote:22.10.21 Added: Option to not show hidden Appdata folder when hidden files are not displayed: wincmd.ini [Configuration] AlwaysShowAppdata=0 (32/64)

The feature was even on the What's New list for version 10.50 in the Help (section 1b) and online: https://www.ghisler.com/mailing.htm:
What's New wrote:New functions and fixes in Total Commander 10.50:
General:

wincmd.ini [Configuration] AlwaysShowAppdata=0 hides Appdata folder when hidden files are not shown

You can set TC up to automatically look for new updates ("Help" -> "Check for updates now")
