is there a way to configure pdf view to start in page view instead of scrolling pages?
maybe cofiguring sumatrapdfprefs.dat? that would be helpfull.
Hi,

The file "sumatrapdfprefs.dat" does not exist here -> ... Configuration file ...
I think you mean the plugin "pdfview": %COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wlx\pdfview\pdfview.wlx but I don't use it any more,
because the display of PDF contents with plugin %COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wlx\slister\slister.wlx64 is much better here.

I'm not quite sure if this is what you mean, but the scroll bar can be turned off.

SumatraPDF-settings.txt - make the following change, namely

Code: Select all

FROM: HideScrollbars = false
TO: HideScrollbars = true
Tested with:
- SumatraPDF-3.3.3-64.exe
- sLister 1.1.2

- %COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wlx\sLister\slister.ini ([slister] path=%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wlx\sLister\SumatraPDF-3.3.3-64.exe)
- %COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wlx\sLister\SumatraPDF-settings.txt
- %COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\wlx\sLister\SumatraPDF-3.3.3-64.exe

i think we have different configurations. my folder hast this content:
  • AUTHORS
    COPYING
    slister.wlx
    SumatraPDF.exe
    sumatrapdfprefs.dat
both sumatra files are needed to display pdf. i played a long time with pdf + different lister plugins, so i dont want another setup than this. i dont have SumatraPDF-settings.txt. the code you suggested is not content in sumatrapdfprefs.dat. in there it looks like this:

i would like to see the full pdf page when listing/opening and if i scroll it turns to the next page instead of just scrolling lines. this way i rarely use scrollbars but i dont mind them.

Yes, I noticed that at almost the same time and corrected my post above yours to that effect, that you are using the plugin "pdfview" (and not sLister).

Regarding the parameters (for plugin "pdfview]"), I am now sure that the "lsplugin.ini" file in the Total Commander directory must be supplemented.

But there are specialists who can probably help you in this regard, e.g. around here.
Unfortunately, I cannot help you here (don't know where to look for these parameters ... https://www.ghostscript.com/doc/current/Use.htm#PDF ?).

I'm glad you were able to solve it yourself.
Unfortunately, I hadn't thought of this possibility either.

Hello, I noticed two glitches in sLister:
1. File list looses focus when I press Ctrl+Q, so can't use curson keys to browse files
2. no seetings (also in SumatraPDF options section) allow to default to "fit window" mode, instead it's always "fit to width"

Currently I have to abandon sLister and use this unofficial "patched" version of Sumatra PDF plugin to get what I need
https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=336677#p336677
However this version (as far as I understand) has two disadvantages:
1. hardcoded and non-upgradable SumatraPDF engine
2. it doesn't associate itself with DjVu and xps files, like sLister
so having "proper" sLister as alternative would be very nice.

1. That doesn't happen here, I can move up and down the file list no problems
2. You need to set "single page" and "fit page" - see https://github.com/hi5/_resources/blob/master/sumatra.png (start SumatraPDF.exe to access the settings)

Well, it's weird. In my situation as soon as I press Ctrl+Q the focus is lost.
Are you using 64bit TC + 64bit slister?

unfortunately changing page view settings in sumatra pdf doesn't help. slister somehow starts sumatra so that it ignores sumatra pdf configuration file.

There is no problem with the focus here.
May be you have running a script in the background
which sets sets Sumatrapdf.exe to always on top
or manipulates the title.

Perhaps you think you are running the latest Sumatra but are actually running a very old version.

My suggestion:
- completely remove slister
- complete remove sumatrapdf if you have it installed in c:\program files
- make sure nothing remains in your plugins\wlx\ folder with regards to slister

Now reinstall slister, in the slister folder you probably see SumatraPDF.exe, delete it
Download the portable version https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/download-free-pdf-viewer
copy it as "SumatraPDF.exe" to the slister folder. Start SumatraPDF.exe, change the preferences, you should see an updated "SumatraPDF-settings.txt" in the same slister folder

Restart TC

Try again now it should work.

If it still doesn't something else is going on on your system. Try again with a new ini (see command line options to start TC with new ini option)

If the problems you describe with focus would be generic, many people would have complained already, but as you can read in this thread, you seem to be the only one at the moment.

Hope it helps, otherwise you're out of luck.

Why do anyone say that I should use 64-bit SumatraPDF.exe for slister.wlx64 ?
I use one 32-bit SumatraPDF.exe for both slister.wlx and slister.wlx64 and have no problems for years on any Windows XP...11 (x32 and x64).
(slister.wlx and slister.wlx64 ver.1.1.2.0, SumatraPDF.exe ver.3.1.1.0.10417z )

My files in plugin's dir:
SumatraPDF.exe 4A42E72D
slister.wlx EE52EA7A
slister.wlx64 D689B583
slister.ini

Zeniko wrote about differences with official release:
The main differences are:
* My builds also work under ancient Windows 2000 (official builds only work under Windows XP SP3 and above).
* My builds ignore easy-to-circumvent document restrictions which prevent printing and/or text copying (see e.g. https://code.google.com/p/sumatrapdf/issues/detail?id=1927 ).
* My portable builds allow one-click updating (for official builds, you'll have to manually download and unpack updates). My next installer should do so as well.
* The rest of the differences are mainly due to slightly different preferences in appearance (there used to be far less yellow on the start page; ironically, now there's far more than in official builds).
(* Also, I provide x64 prerelease builds.)

I had the same issue, i replaced the sumatraPDF with this version: SumatraPDF-3.4.6-64.zip and the issue is gone. Previously i had the latest pre-release version of sumatra (SumatraPDF pre-release build version 15239).
