Just in case the problem still exists:

SumatraPDF-settings.txt

Code: Select all

EscToExit = true

Just checked all possible options. I tried all recent releases of SumatraPDF v3.5.0 - 3.5.2, the prerelease version too, in both 32/64-bit, with and without SingleClickStart=1, with the SumatraPDF plugin in 32 and 64-bit. Here, only SumatraPDF v3.4.6 does work fine.

hi5 and oOoZEUSoOo report similar issues.

Thank you all for your great help guys. For the time being, I'll stick with the old 3.4.6 release.

I have this setting since many years
but only the SumatraPDF plugin instead of SLister solved it for me.

Hello. This glitch should be fixed by the author of SumatraPDF. I just added to the plugin description that versions of SumatraPDF above 3.4.6 do not work correctly with the plugin in QuickView mode.

Solved the problem with focus for SumatraPDF versions higher than 3.4.6.

Unfortunately, SumatraPDF.wlx opens files much longer than slister. This is the main and most important reason why I cannot put SumatraPDF.wlx higher.

Most likely you are using version of SumatraPDF 3.1, which I included with the plugin. This version is very old, slow and designed for specific purposes. If you use newer versions, starting with 3.2, the speed of opening documents will increase significantly.

I'm using 3.2 (the latest XP compatible) for both plugins. Obviously, the problem is not with exe, but with wlx.

Confirmed, works terrific with the current v3.6 prerelease binary of SumatraPDF.
Huge thanks, AkulaBig. :D

If it was a wlx problem, different versions of SumatraPDF.exe wouldn't behave differently.

Well, why argue if I know for sure that both folders contain the same exe file with the same version?
I have large pdf scans, when opening which the system freezes for a few minutes, which does not happen with slister.
By the way, this also applies to IrfanView.wlx by the same author.

If you cannot upgrade SumatraPDF to anything higher than v3.2 on your WinXP install, why do you see the need to switch away from SLister anyway? If SLister runs faster for you, I'd say stick with it as there's nothing to gain for you here at the moment.

SLister worked fine for me on Win10 with SumatraPDF up to v3.4.6 but failed to work flawlessly with v3.5x and higher. So I have the benefit of switching to the TCSumatraPDF plugin, now that AkulaBig was able to fix the quick-view focus issues with release v1.6.

And why is the installation of Win XP indicated here? And why exactly is my? This applies to all XP.

For the same reasons that are being actively discussed here — the loss of focus and the work of some hotkeys.

Why? Potentially, the author can figure out how to solve this problem.

The Author of the TCSumatraPDF plugin has solved all problems with version 1.6.
- It runs fast even with large PDFs
- Supports all Lister switching keys
- Closes using ESC
- Needs only one SumatraPDF regardless of the TC bitness.
