Every option has its own hotkey except the 'Everything"

Why should I need an hotkey to switch off Everything ?
A normal Everything user will never switch off Everything to just get a long running TC search.

Imagine a case when Everything is not started automatically.
Not every user needs Everything started with TC, especially when TC runs from a network/flash drive.

I'd like a hotkey to turn on/off Everything as well, because there are TC searches that otherwise don't work.

I've got a search pattern ( *2.*;*4.*;*6.*;*8.*;*0.* ) that selects files that end with an even number. I use this stored search regularly, but it doesn't find any files when Everything is turned on. So I've got to turn Everything on and off all the time. It would make life easier for me if Everything had a working hotkey.

claims regarding search queries using Total Commander <-> 'Everything' are incorrect - examples:

Field "Search for:" *2.*;*4.*;*6.*;*8.*;*0.* ... [✓] 'Everything'
5 files are found although 'Everything' is open in the background (and the "Everything Service" is running!).
The search is done only with parameters of Total Commander and not with parameters of 'Everything'!
Field "Search for:" ed:<*2.*|*4.*|*6.*|*8.*|*0.*> ... [✓] 'Everything'
5 files are found, 'Everything' is present as a process in the Task Manager and the "Everything Service" is running!
The search is done with Total Commander using 'Everything' parameters!

Tested with these files:

If you need further support, then it would be useful to specify,
which versions of Total Commander and Everything you are using.

If someone needs 'Everything' only occasionally, he can also set up the following hotkeys in 'Everything'(!):
Menu "Tools" -> Options... -> Keyboard:

Toggle window Hotkey: F11 (example!)
File | Exit: F10 (Global) (example!)

My suggestion for this is the following:
In the "Find files" window, under the option 'Everything' --> underline the letter "g" --> if possible, you should see the underline then.

For all other letters, i.e. "Everythin" there are already underscores in this window - at least as far as I could see.
To do this, I went to menu "Configuration" - "Options..." - "Language" to select different languages.

I just tested my claim that the search query *2.*;*4.*;*6.*;*8.*;*0.* didn't get results using Everything. Well, it works — and it doesn't. I initially thought it depended on the depth of the directory folder ...

With Everything turned on

Y:\Scans\New\PSD - no files found
Y:\Scans\New - no files found
Y:\Scans\ - 890 files and 1196 directories found
Y:\ - 899 files and 1225 directories found

The problem of course is that there ARE files with even numbers in Y:\Scans\New\PSD.

With Everything turned off

Y:\Scans\New\PSD - 64 files found and 0 directories found
Y:\Scans\New - 160 files and 0 directories found
Y:\Scans\ - 15338 files and 1197 directories found
Y:\ - 15732 files and 1226 directories found

It's obvious now that Everything clearly doesn't see everything on the Y:\ drive and returns incomplete results in TC.

It seems to depend on the query. Here are the results of a few test queries in Y:\Scans\New\PSD, this directory contains 128 files, sequentially named from page-003.tif to page-130.tif

*12*
TC: 12 files TC+Everything: 12 files (CORRECT)

*12*.*
TC: 12 files TC+Everything: 12 files (CORRECT)

*12.tif
TC: 2 files TC+Everything: 2 files found (CORRECT)

*12.t*
TC: 2 files TC+Everything: 2 files found (CORRECT)

*12.*
TC: 2 files TC+Everything: no files found (INCORRECT)

I'm running the 32-bit version of TC 10 and the 64 bit version of Everything 1.4.1.1009. Both are the latest versions.

I can confirm that a search pattern like *12.* does NOT work when 'Everything' is enabled. (both 64bit and 32bit TC 10.00)

I went back and tried old TC versions and the pattern does work in TC 9.00 and 9.0a, but it stops working in TC 9.10 beta3. I cannot see anything in the history for TC 9.10 beta3 that there should have been made any changes for the Search function in that version though.

[ ] Match whole filename when using wildcards

Pay attention to the tooltip for this option.
Does the problem still exist?

Yes, this is the correct setting in 'Everything' for such queries.

That is not only for numbered files.
A wildcard like *xx.* has the same behavior.
