Automate archive handling

Post by *thymaridas »

Suppose I have the following file: C:\Downloads\Test.zip. Is there a way to automate the unpacking of this file so that it automatically creates a new directory with the same name as the archive--C:\Downloads\Test\--and then extracts the files into that directory? Programs like Winzip have this feature available from the context menu.

Thanks for the help. Is there a way to make this the default behavior?

Maybe an external script can help.
If you are interested, i can write an AutoHotkey macro to accomplish that.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't use AutoHotkey now and don't really want to use it just for this.
