Hi,
I had a file which contained an ï in the name. While packing the file TC warned about a non Ansi character and I wanted to rename the ï into an i.
I noticed that I had to press the backspace key twice before it disappeared.
I tried to reproduce myself later but it doesn't happen with every file. But with one file it does. I think it may have to do that that file was created on a Mac (it was a .pdf) and arrived on my computer by mail.
I don't see a way to add a file, but I'm willing to provide you with the file.
BTW it's no big deal to press backspace twice of course.
Greetings, JP.
Two backspaces needed to delete one single sign?

Re: Two backspaces needed.
That was a unicode sign with two bytes for one sign(glyph), so it's normal you have to do it twice.

I wouldn't say it's normal to press Backspace twice for a character, no matter how it is encoded. Does the same happen in Microsoft Word?

Re: Two backspaces needed to delete one single sign?
I tried to rename the file using Windows Explorer and there also I needed to backspace twice. So it's not specific TC but maybe in an underlying Windows call.

Was this a file created on an Apple Mac? They use separate base characters plus accents (two Unicode characters, i followed by the accent), while Windows uses composite characters (one Unicode character containing both the base character and the accent).
