TC Android can it be "registered" as default to open a file?

Post by *bgold2007 »

TC is great thank you! Reminds me of NC (and the clunkier PC Tools) . But is there a way to 'register ' it for an Android phone (to be default invoked when system is looking to open a file? ) I am sick to death of the imcompetent 'files by Google '. TC displays 'Open *' in Settings and 'files ...' has no disable option.

I admit I am not rooted.

though this probably doesn't matter:
Android 8
Motorola e5Play

Thanks.

Moved to the Android forum.
Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

TC for Android already registers itself as a file picker. In some older Android versions, you would get to choose the file picker when an app tries to open a file. Unfortunately on newer Android versions you always get the Files app, and can pick Total Commander only from there.
