Display file size in android device from desktop-TC

Hello all,

I'm trying to sort the files I have in the internal storage from my android device using Total Commander (desktop, cellphone connected via USB) and while I'm able to see the files, Total Commander won't display the occupied space for any file.

Is there any setting I'm missing or does TC simply cannot read their file sizes?

Are you perhaps using a Custom columns view when you go to the files on your device. Do you see a Tab-header named Size?

thank you for your reply.

Using default settings, I can see the "size" field which can show the file's size on my HDD and SSD, but when trying to see the filesize for the files on my android device it shows nothing.

So as you can see, TC does show up the size for my files in my HDD, pendrive etc, but not when looking at my cellphone's internal storage. Is there any additional option under TC, perhaps a plugin, or is this something related to permissions to be set somehow on the cellphone itself?

What I notice is that you do not have a drive button for your Android device in your Drive button bar - marked with red on my screenshot - so either your TC is older than Total Commander 9.50 beta 7 or you have put DriveBarHide=; in the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini

If your TC is older than TC 9.50, then that might be the problem.

I work on win 10 home 64bit -- TC 10.00 64bit -- Samsung A50 Android 11.
In TC I can see the size of files on my android fine. But when I press SPACE on folder, it does not show the total size of the files in this folder, as it does with my PC local hard disks. I guess TC try avoid time consuming task.
Is there a parameter I can add to wincmd.ini to force this calculation?

Calculating of folder space is not supported for Android devices, as is it not on FTP sites either.

You can use the plugin MediaAudio2 to access your Android device and then calculating of folder space is supported.

You were right! I was using 9.00, downloaded 10.00 and now it properly displays filesizes inside my Android device.

Will take a look into that plugin because I've been unable to calculate folder spaces.
