Improve UI

Post by *wjharing »

I have been using TC for over 15 years, and as a toolbox it is doing pretty much all I need it to do.

Unfortunately the interface itself has not much gone through a lot of revamps and as such it feels a bit dated.
Understanding that functionality goes over looks, I do want to recommend if some tweaks could be made to the interface, so that it feels a bit more of a current application.

The darkmode is ok, but looking at eg. onecommander.com, the dark mode looks more sophisticated. (I prefer TC over OC, so it's only for reference)

Would be nice for right-click menu to closer match Win11 design, and same for the options screen, and pop-up boxes. (The fact that part of the interface still refers to XP style, demonstrates the need for a refresh...)

Don't get me wrong, I love TC, and can't live without it, but a freshened up look wouldn't hurt.

Not for me, thanks.
I find the GUI iconic.

Hmm I wouldn't say it's iconic. Just dated...

This is iconic!

It's not my taste anymore, but kudos for the classic/retro/iconic look! :D

Maybe TC should include themes as an option in the settings, including the Norton Commander look, together with the current XP theme, and a new Win11 theme etc.

That's a good idea, I think.👍🏻
