Renaming Driveletter in Win11 Diskmanger not reflected in TCmd 10.0

Post by *EL.BE »

Hi,
after initial setup of Windows clients in our domain we regularly rename the driveletter of CD-/DVD-drives to the letter R: using Windows Diskmanager. Worked fine so far up to Windows 10 and all Server OS.
Applying same adjustment to Windows 11 Pro clients the change of driveletter of DVD to R: is not visible in Total Cmd 10.0, where driveletter still reads D: . Systems are running in Virtual Box 6.1.30
Bug in Windows 11 or Total Cmd. Please advise.
Thank you
ELBE

I do not have this problem on Windows 11. I have just tried to rename a DVD burner via
C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc
and the new drive letter showed up immediately in Total Commander.

Maybe you only changed the label and not the drive letter? The Explorer mainly shows the label.
