Latest Windows 11 update broke directory hotlist environment variables.

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Latest Windows 11 update broke directory hotlist environment variables.

Post by *RandomMarius »

I just updated my Windows 11 installation, and my change directory hotlist menu no longer works due to environment variables not working.

I was using an older version of TC, updated to version 10 and the problem persisted.

My command was something like:

cd c:\Users\%USERNAME%\Desktop

It still works, but drops me in C:\Users

Works perfect for me under Windows 11
Something is wrong with your settings or you run TC as admin and not with your user account.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3374)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.69
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

Please check what you get when you choose menu Commands - Open command prompt window, and then type:
set USERNAME
and press Enter. Does it match the directory name?

Please reply, otherwise I will move this thread to "will not be changed". There is no such problem in my Windows 11 installations, both fresh installs and updates.

I've switched back to Windows 10, and the problem went away. I use a network copy of my TC with local INI so same exact installation.

So for now, if no one else has this issue, I guess it might have been something strange with my home directory or permissions.
