Find files dialog init speed

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Find files dialog init speed

Post by *SailorMax »

Can you speedup init of Find Files dialog window?
On my notebook it takes 500-1000ms.
For compatible: "New folder" dialog shows instantly.

thank you.

This happens when there are a lot of entries in the comboboxes (search in, search for etc.)

You can try putting wincmd.ini on the ignore list of your virus scanner.
Or remove older entries from the comboboxes with Shift+Del.

I tried fresh installation (alone exe-file in separate directory).
I use Windows Security as antivirus.

Thats not a fresh installation if Tc find something in the registry.
A fresh installation is starting TC with a fresh ini-file like this
totalcmd64.exe /I=%temp%\fresh.ini
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3374)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.69
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

I use portable version which store all settings in ini-files => registry is empty.

In my "fresh installation" all comboboxes are empty.
