Filter to view only files within time interval

Show Dirs Only - All Three Ways Work
1. Use a button to show dirs only using cm commands 3303,2023,3305 or cd |*
2. Show Custom Ctrl+F12 filter typed directly as a file mask in the Ctrl+F12 dialog to show dirs only: |* or *.
3. Show Custom Ctrl+F12 filter saved as a custom search in the saved Show Custom filter to show dirs only: |* or *.

Show Files Only - Only The First Two Ways Work
1. Use a button to show files only using cm commands 3302,2023,3304 or cd *|*\
2. Show Custom Ctrl+F12 typed directly as a file mask in the Ctrl+F12 dialog to show files only: |*\ or \
3. Show Custom Ctrl+F12 saved as a custom search in the saved Show Custom filter to show files only: |*\ or \
This will not work because in a saved Show Custom filter, the \ acts as "do not recursively search" for the folders.

I would like some way to have a saved search to display files only that I could call up, as needed, from the Show Custom Ctrl+F12 dialog.

The Show Files of Type - Custom function (Ctrl+F12) was meant to filter files, not folders. Later it was added that you can also filter folders. Filters for folders are specified separately from filters for files.

Predefined Selection Types are actually saved searches and use a different syntax. While the Show Files of Type function defaults to searching files, the Search function defaults to searching files and folders. It makes sense that inside the Show Files of Type function the saved searches only filters files. But I think it would be intuitive that when the saved search contains an explicit search for files only (Directory attribute must be clear) or folders only (Directory attribute must be set), that this would not be the case.

So I support your suggestion and suggest that when a saved search contains an explicit search for files only or an explicit search for folders only, that only files respectively folders are displayed in the Show Files of Type function.
