Cut & paste file (into other directory) does not work

Post by *pstein »

I wan to move a file from one directory into another.

Therefore I long tap on the source file, scroll down the context menu and select "Cut to clipboard"

First issue: a notification message appears at the bottom "File COPIED to clipboard".
No, I don't want to copy it. Instead I want to CUT it.

Afterwards I navigate to the target directory and.....search the PASTE here function.

Where is it?

When I tap on free space in the target directory nothing happened.
The upper right 3-dots-context menu does not contain a "Paste here" submenu either.

So how do I tell TC to past the file from clipboard here?

If Total Commander for Android works like the Windows version then you can long tap ".." or the current path or a target directory. Can you try that?

It's also at the end of each file's context menu.

Ok, thank you it works (partially).

As far as I can see Paste (only) works when I tap on ".."

It does not work when I tap on path at the top and it does not work
when I tap in the parent folder on the child target folder.

Why not?

This counter-intuitive and not user friendly.

Furthermore I would appreciate a corresponding handling with File Explorer in Windows or File Managers in Linux.
When I right-click on empty space in Windows File Explorer then a context menu with "Paste (here)" appears.
Can such a context menu on folders empty space enabled (implemented) in TC as well?
