Search for folder ..\32\INSTALL\

After installation, these 3 files were in this folder.

Where do you see such a folder?
I have never seen anything like this.

I have never seen anything like this.
I had put the installation file here:
D:\Daten\Programme\Totalcmd\Migration\TCD-Programmversionen\TC-10.5\10.50b4\tc1050x32_64_b4.exe

Then I entered a '.' in the TC command line so that the path would open in Windows Explorer.
I closed TC.

In Windows Explorer, I carried out the installation as usual.

Afterwards I was astonished to find that I had the folder "32" available here:
D:\Daten\Programme\Totalcmd\Migration\TCD-Programmversionen\TC-10.5\10.50b4\32\

I opened the folder and the "INSTALL" folder appeared:
D:\Daten\Programme\Totalcmd\Migration\TCD-Programmversionen\TC-10.5\10.50b4\32\INSTALL\

There were 3 files in it:

Code: Select all

Name/Ext	Size Date Attr
WCMICON2.DLL	1 553 920	04.05.2022 10:50	-a--
WCMICONS.DLL 638 736	04.05.2022 10:50	-a--
WCMICONS.INC 1 847	04.05.2022 10:50	-a--
I copied these over the existing ones in %COMMANDER_PATH% to update them and deleted the folder "32".

EDIT:
Inappropriate text not related to this topic DELETED.

I just found the "32" folder on the C drive when I installed the TC in the C: \ TOTALCMD directory, but it was never like this before. it looks like a bug.

INSTALL.CAB in tc1050x32_64_b4.exe has a a folder "..\..\32\INSTALL" with the files WCMICON?.* in it. TCmd shows an additional ".." only but TCmd cannot change into "..\..\32\INSTALL". WinRAR shows this folder and can change into this folder.
The path "..\.." is not allowed because of Directory traversal attack vulnerability.

ghisler(Author) wrote: 2022-05-04, 21:52 UTC It was indeed a packaging mistake in the installer. I have just re-uploaded a fixed combined installer. You don't need to re-download it if you updated from an older version, the 3 files are unchanged.
