How to change icons of text files to TotalCommanderIcon?

Hello :-)

Some of my text files appear on my android desk with an icon showing a little totalCommanderIcon.
But others text files don't.
Which means that these other textfiles appear with an icon of openDocumentReader or AndrOpenOffice.

Navigating with TC and clicking one of these textfiles with other icons, TC shows a list of possible (editor-)apps - but not TC itself.

How can I tell TC to show itself in that list of potential apps?

Or after clicking files with other icons the TCeditor opens that file correcty, but the file does not change its icon to TC - even after saving it new with TC.

Thank you for hints :-) chris

Do these files have a different extension than .txt?
If they are not recognized as text/plain, then the editor will not be offered in the Android app picker dialog.

You can define an internal association, though, via main menu - configure.

Thank you for helping :-)

No, all of them have .txt.
After saving in TC a file as .txt, I do expect that TC recognizes it as a textfile.
Which might be true, if I start the textfile with TC from the beginning.
But taking an existing textfile.txt I cannot open and edit it with TC or TCeditor.
And the file presents an icon of another editorApp.

StandartApps can be configuered for browser, sms, startup or telefon.
.txt does not appear in that dialog. Neither do TC or TCeditor.
In: settings - apps -standardApps.

Sure, but nobody told so.

Try it like Christian already said: Define an internal association (at TC) via main menu - configure.

No, all of them have .txt.
That's strange - maybe they have more than one dot in the name? There must be something different compared to the files which work.

@sqa_wizard:
OK, thanx, success :-)

@ghisler:
Yes, some files have more than 1 dot in the name, since I use a dot when adding a date to the fileName.

Just checked several textFiles, within TC listing up a directory.
Nothing happens on click or doubleClick.
But contextMenu 'open with' presents TCeditor in the opening dialog. Which is fine.

My wish to replace the icon of the re-saved textFile with a TCicon remains open ...
I keep it on my wish list for some day in the future - don't worry about it.

cu :-)
