Copy date and time of files from FTP connected device

Post by *Lolly-Bob »

When I let the files of an FTP connection of a connected device be displayed in the window, they have the respective date and time, which they have on the connected device. However, when copying the files to the PC, the date of the files is not taken over. All files get the date of the copying process on the PC. This is not nice, especially because you can see in TC which date the source files have.

I often use FTP to copy files from mobile phone or table to the PC.

I click on the FTP symbol in TC or do I understand you wrong?

But the problem is solved now. I found the CheckBox 'Preserve file dates' in the download dialog.

Once again:

Turning on WLAN on PC/notebook, Tablet/mobile phone and DSL device.
I install the FTP server app from Google Play Store on my tablet or mobile phone.
Configuring a new FTP connection in TC.
Click on FTP connect symbol in TC and type in FTP user name and password.

Aha - sounds a little troublesome - You can usually just connct via USB cable and see the phone/tablet either in TC's drive combobox, or via the plugin MediaAudio2 https://ghisler.fileburst.com/fsplugins/wpdplug.zip - or you could just install the LAN plugin on the phone.

Yes, I know BUT sometimes I can't get a USB connection or I have to search and fiddle in the phone settings or I can't see all kinds of files from the device in TC and I hate cables. It is so much easier to use FTP. 2 clicks on the device and 2 clicks in TC.

I didn't know that at all. Well, as long as I have the FTP server on it, everything is wonderful. But maybe I will test it.
