Annoying search for temporarily unavailable LAN folder or WebDAV directory

Hi Christian,

First of all, thank you for the great app and for providing an apk so that I can continue to install apps :)

But my problem is different:

I use the LAN- and the WebDav-Plugin, when I share something via the TC. This works great. But if I am e.g. on the road or offline, it always happens that TC wants to open the (last used) directory in the LAN or the last directory when using WebDav. This would not actually be a bad thing, but unfortunately nothing happens after clicking on "Cancel". I have to wait a very long time until TC finally realises that there is no longer access to the LAN or WebDav folder.

This is very disturbing and annoying because there is nothing you can do except wait for a long time.

Is it possible to change this?

Can you please give me more details when this happens? Total Commander does not refresh it directories when you return to it, and it always opens the list of connections when you click on a plugin in the home folder. Also when TC was terminated while in a plugin, it always returns to the home folder. The only way to cause this problem would be when I press refresh or try to change directories while in a plugin folder.

The situation is as follows:

I am at home and connected to my shared LAN folder to share files. Or I am connected to my WebDAV folder for the same purpose.

Now, for example, a shared folder is a directory of my Windows computer. If this computer is turned off, TC of course can't access this folder anymore.

Nevertheless it happens in the context of "Send to Total Commander" (Share), e.g. pictures from the Gallery, that it first tries to open the shared folder on the Windows computer. This could also be a WebDav directory, e.g. if there is no internet access.

I have to wait some time until TC cancels the connection attempt and displays the root directory.

So if I understand you correctly, it does not happen in the main program, only in "Send to Total Commander"?
That dialog indeed remembers the last used directory. Otherwise it would be annoying to send multiple files to the same location. I will check why "Cancel" doesn't work there.

Yes, that is correct. When it searches for the disconnected directory, nothing happens while clicking on "Cancel". You have to wait for a longer time until TC changes to the main directory by itself.

Will there be a fix for this in the new version? The problem is unfortunately still very annoying. That would be great :-)

The latest beta version 5 now asks whether you want to reconnect or not.

I tried it with version 3.40 and the implementation with the query is great! Many thanks for the implementation and support! 😊👍🏻
