Do you mean all others before or after v 10.00 (or both) does not work?

Here the versions where Ctrl+A does not work in the Quick Search field are TC 10.50b5 to 10.51final (both included and only 64bit TC)

Re: in search not work CTRL+A

Post by *ghisler(Author) »

I cannot find any errors in my code which would prevent Ctrl+A from working. Please note that Ctrl+Alt+A and AltGr+A (which is Ctrl+Alt+A) do not work, just Ctrl+A. I also tried with French (AZERTY, press Ctrl+Q) and Russian (press Ctrl+A) keyboard, and both work on Windows 10 and 11. I also tried with a fresh wincmd.ini. Could those who have this problem also try with a fresh wincmd.ini, please?

it just marks the whole input
That's what it should do! The other users who reported the problem wrote that it just moved the cursor to the start of the input...

ALL - those ones which are AFTER 10.00:(
P.S. correction - 64 bit among "all others" does NOT work. 32 bit - still does work ;)

P.P.S Am i have a strange feelings that 32 and 64 bit versions of subj getting compiled with help of different build platforms???
Recently, more and more often there is a situation when in the 32-bit version EVERYTHING works without problems, and in the 64-bit version, something is always unfinished. Not all and not always - but always at least a little bit - and it is. It's kind of annoying, to be honest.
?????

I think IF I am right in these assumptions - that case could definitely easy lead to the difference in attempts to reproduce the problem...

also try with a fresh wincmd.ini
I already did this - when tried to check all final versions of TC from 9.22a and till the latest RC5..
9.22a+10.00 - do work. All other after - do not. Tested with clean.ini.
P.S. correction - 64 bit among "all others" does NOT work. 32 bit - still does work ;)

32-bit TC is compiled using Delphi, 64-bit TC is compiled using Lazarus. Problems with the 64-bit version indeed seem to be more frequent than problems with the 32-bit version.

I found the Rubicon!
10.50b4 (second edition) - do work both versions: 64+32.
10.50b5 - 32 does work, 64 - does NOT work.

And this one change:
08.05.22 Fixed: Ctrl+A in edit controls or the edit box part of comboboxes would clear the edit box when using auto-append for that edit box, e.g. in the F5 copy dialog (32/64)
was mark as fixed for this version.

64-bit TC is compiled using Lazarus
I could not find a forum where this version of the build environment was not mentioned without big problems EXACTLY on the build of 64 bit progs versions. Of course - I looked among the Russian-language forums.
What could have motivated the author not to build everything in one way - in one environment? Kind of like I see that there is 64-bit Windows Application Development - RAD Studio from Embarcadero Co. And this is a long-established company with many years of experience, ambitions and status among developers. And most importantly - it has more than good technical support. Why not this one??? Why this "lazarus"?

Because Lazarus was available before a 64-bit compiler from Embarcadero.
Delphi x64 Compiler (beta) coming next week(?) :)

Or just google "embarcadero site:ghisler.ch/board/" in general.

This was already known and mentioned by petermad in this thread.

The fix in TC 10.52rc1 works on my system and works for others, but apparently not on your system and some others.

Unfortunately it works so only with a fresh ini.
But for me thats not a big problem.

That's true, but because the error was not confirmed by all other - it make sense to find out on MY machine - WHERE is that Rubikon IS.
And so I found it.
The fix in TC 10.52rc1
Fixing what?
