I guess you mean version 10.52 :)
I don't know if that ever worked as I use QuickSearch eXtended.
After filtering I leave the the Ctrl-S with Escape and Ctrl-A to select all of the final results.

it's Strange, but it's true.
27.09.22 Fixed: Ctrl+A not working any more in quick search with search dialog (64)
was declared for History of Release Total Commander 10.52 release candidate 1
And now CTRL+A in this small dialog behaves like the key HOME - jump on the first char only.

In my conditions on TC 10.52RC4 x32/x64, the combination in the specified field works.

P. S.: Full selection implies a complete replacement. So it's easier to use Ctrl+Z.

Not confirmed, Ctrl+A works in both 32-bit and 64-bit here.
Which Windows version?

win 10 and 11. Exactly builds should be listed?
SHIFT+HOME = does work
SHIFT+cursorkeys = does work.
Mouse click&drag = does work
CTRL+A = works only as a pure HOME.

P.S. correction - 64bit does NOT work - 32 DOES work $) for CTRL+A

P.P.S Am i have a strange feelings that 32 and 64 bit versions of subj getting compiled with help of different build platforms???
Recently, more and more often there is a situation when in the 32-bit version EVERYTHING works without problems, and in the 64-bit version, something is always unfinished. Not all and not always - but always at least a little bit - and it is. It's kind of annoying, to be honest.

Fla$her,
Full selection implies a complete replacement.
Or a copy.

Hi,
If I may,
AntonyD
P.S. correction - 64bit does NOT work - 32 DOES work $) for CTRL+A
For me it works like that as well.
Ok under 32 but not under 64.
Under 64 bit, CTRL+A works as Home.

Windows 10 last updates. TC 10.51. French keyboard.
Under TC 10.52RC5 it works like this as well.

Best regards, Frederic.

I cannot confirm that Ctrl+A doesn't select the Quick search text in TC 10.52rc5 x64 - I even tried installing French AZERTY keyboard layout, to see if that was the culprit, but also here Ctrl+A (Ctrl+Q in AZERTY layout) works. Tested under Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 7.

Of course I believe what you say, especially when Christian does not confirm this malfunction either, but we cannot rule out the fact that in some people it does not work correctly.
Most certainly due to a parameter whether under windows, or an application in the background, etc...
I try to do some manipulation but without success.
I also tried to use an application such as carnac (http://carnackeys.com/) to display the keys pressed but if you launch TC as administrator then you have to launch 'Carnac' as administrator right as well.
So, when using 'Ctrl+A' shortkey in the filter field, the 'Carnac' application displays 'Ctrl+A'. So nothing wrong with keyboard. But the behavior seems to be 'Home' key.

Anyway I find myself in the same situation as AntonyD ^^

Hoping that with further investigation we can find the source of this problem :-)

By the way, it is not possible to navigate with the left and right arrows when I'am in the filter field of the quick search mode (Ctrl+s)
The focus is lost and go to the file list.
Is this normal?

Of course I believe what you say
And I believe you - that is why I tried with French keyboard, to make my environment closer to yours - to maybe find the reason.

if you launch TC as administrator then you have to launch 'Carnac' as administrator right as well.
I hadn't tried with TC as admin, but I have now. and still cannot reproduce the bug.

By the way, it is not possible to navigate with the left and right arrows when I'am in the filter field of the quick search mode (Ctrl+s)
The focus is lost and go to the file list.
Is this normal?
No, left and right arrows are supposed to move the cursor inside the filter field to the left or right.

Have you tried to start TC with a clean ini file, to rule out that any setting in your current wincmd.ini file is causing this.
To try with a clean ini file just run this from TC's command line: %COMMANDER_EXE% /N /i=%TEMP%\test.ini

Better add quotes to avoid surprises: "%COMMANDER_EXE%" /N /i="%TEMP%\test.ini"

Hi ^^,

Don't worry, I folow your answers with everyone and I know you are always taking things seriously ;-)
By the way, thank you to all of you for your great work. You, everybody, help a lot of people.

Admin right was to make 'Carnac' working with TC and not for our issue.

Yes, you can be confident, I tested with clean ini, I've made multiple test but always the same issue.
But, to avoid a miss, I've just tested with your command line and it does the same things for Ctrl+A BUT arows are working in the filter field. So may be I have a parameter that change the behavior of arrows keys.
