Sorting files when entering the directory

Post by *HenriSurTC »

Good evening,

Until recently, when I entered a directory sorted by date, the sorting was automatically positioned from the most recent to the oldest (last file used first).
Now, the reverse is happening. I guess I must have changed something without realizing it.
I can't find anything in the standard configuration that allows me to specify the sorting I want when displaying the directory (without me having to click on the column header myself).

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance. Best Regards.

Did you perhaps accidentally switch OFF "Automatically switch view mode on directory change:"?
(Configuration > Options... > Auto Switch Mode)

Has a View mode been changed?
(Configuration > Options... > View mode)

Overview: View Mode | Auto Switch Mode | Custom columns view

If you are an English speaker, say so, I will translate the message.
Bonjour,

Henri

Please only use English on the English forum. Translation of your French text:
Hello,

Thank you for your reply.
I don't have a Configuration menu.
For me, the menu is called "options", where I find "configuration" where I can't find "Auto-switch mode".

On the other hand, I found the possibility of systematically presenting the list of files sorted by date in ascending or descending order.
Thanks for that, but that's not what I'm looking for. The order can remain that of the previous display but if I click on the sort by date, then it must display from the most recent to the oldest while now it is the reverse.
Do you have an idea ?

Thank you for your time.

Regards

Henri

BTW, here is is how the English interface has been translated to French in Total Commander:
English: Configuration > Options... > Auto Switch Mode
French: Options > Configuration... > Mode de basculement Auto

English: Configuration > Options... > View mode
French: Options > Configuration... > Mode d'affichage

Hi,

English is not my native language, but German.
I use a translator to understand the French [and English] language.

I'm not sure if this setting might help you:
Configuration > Options... > Display: Sorting directories ◉ Like files (also by time)

However, I am convinced that the user nsp in the French forum can help you.

Bonjour,
