Total Commander

If you in-place-rename the filename extension of a zip file to "exe", Total Commander will ask you if you want to create a sfx file.
This is a nice trick, but I think not very well known.

I suggest to add the option "Convert to self-extracting archive" to the context menu of zip files.

I created a mockup screen for this option.

Notice that I also changed the hardcoded text "(Lister)" that TC adds to the context menu behind "View", which I think is not very clear for users.

Yeah I disagree wholeheartedly. It does get any more clear then View (Lister)

Good, we should not all agree But why do you think that? Do you think people have a good concept of what Lister means? I think most people don't and just think of it as viewing in Total Commander, even though the title bar mentions Lister (untranslated when using any language).

The use of the term Lister stems from the time when Lister in TC, and Lister as a standalone program, was kind of a novelty. The standalone program has long been abandoned, and now the term for the feature should be translatable like the other tools in Total Commander.

In the context menu it does not make sense to add "(Lister)". It's among system-wide options and in this context, the addition of "(Lister)" is unlikely to immediately signal to most users that this option starts the famous Lister program I think the addition of "(TC)" on the other hand, signals that this entry is added by TC to view a file within Total Commander. I think that is far more likely to be commonly understood.

I also think the addition of "(Internal)" for internal associations is not very good. Using "(TC)" there too would be easier to understand as well. But at least that text is translatable.
