I'm on the latest beta 3.6.16779, and it seems I'm one of the few where CTRL-F only works after actively clicking in the pdf window.

Just FYI, For me, F7 doesn't work at all, when sumatrapdf is used, neither after clicking in the pdf window. But when from the top menu, I change between the viewing-plugin to another one, F7 does work. But my muscle-memory is ctrl-f

Then ask the author of SumatraPDF to fix this bug or use the version no higher than 3.2 from the sLister plugin.

For everyone, this works on the versions of SumatraPDF above 3.2.

The search function inside PDF file is operated by SumatraPDF. To have F7 working you can add

into Shortcuts section of your SumatraPDF-settings.txt. Then both Ctrl-F and F7 will work. But still only when you click into the window.
If I remember it well, it had been changed with versions after 3.4.6.

Try to open PDF in lister -> Ctrl+f -> type 'q'
I can type any letter and digit (just tried) in search text-box, but not 'q'.

Updated the plugin to version 1.18. It seems to correct the glitch with 'q'.

Now i have one critical issue.
Ctrl+S from lister is destroying PDF file, making it blank, if you decide to save or not. So, if you even click Ctrl+S by mistake, then you can destroy your file (I have done this twice until this day).
Ctrl+S from SumatraPDF works ok - tested.
Please look at this.

I don't know what you are doing, but there is no such problem here.
I tested with version 1.18 of the plugin
together with the newest pre-relase SumatraPDF 3.6.16779
There was never any PDF destroyed regardless where I tested Ctrl-S

Check what action is assigned to this combination of keys in your TC. My files are not destroyed.

I suggest that you try with the demo version of Total Commander, and if there is no error, report it as a bug to the author of the DC file manager.

We already know, there is no such error with TC.
The plugin works fine in TC and also in Free Commander.

I'm confused about getting this plugin working.

I have both TC32 and 64 installed (to c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\).

I installed wlx_TCSumatraPDF_1.19.7z to c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\plugins\wlx\TCSumatraPDF\.

SumatraPDF-3.5.2-64-install.exe from Sumatra's site is installed to c:\Program Files\SumatraPDF\SumatraPDF.exe.

I created c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\plugins\wlx\TCSumatraPDF\sumatrapdf.ini from the sample, but the sample is a bit confusing, not sure I did it right. Here's what it currently looks like:

I can't find the c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\plugins\wlx\TCSumatraPDF\SumatraPDF\SumatraPDF64.exe in the path specified in the file sumatrapdf.ini.

Based on my config though, why is it looking for Sumatra in the plugin dir's SumatraPDF subdir? What am I doing wrong?
