Small size of FindFiles window when starting LOADSEARCH with plugins
When starting LOADSEARCH=X saved with plugins the FindFiles window opens in small size and next "manual" start FindFiles will be the same size. Also it looks with LOADSEARCH==X or em_X in usercmd.ini with LOADSEARCH==X. Starting LOADSEARH saved without plugins is all right (full size).
I`m starting this LOADSEACH from UserMenu.
and btw. why the field with em_X (only) cannot show an icon in dropdown menu?

Re: Small size of FindFiles window when starting LOADSEARCH with plugins
I can reproduce that only with Total Commander 32-bit. The search window opens maximized but then gets resized when the search starts.

Yes, exactly. Even with "tc"-plugin only.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2023-11-22, 10:24 UTC The search window opens maximized but then gets resized when the search starts.
but If you start LOADSEARH in TCx64 after LOADSEARH in TCx32 and forgot maximize search window, this window will be small.
Unfortunately, I am forced to use TCx32 also due to some 32b-only plugins

Re: Small size of FindFiles window when starting LOADSEARCH with plugins
Yes, of course, because TC remembers the last size of the search dialog.but If you start LOADSEARH in TCx64 after LOADSEARH in TCx32 and forgot maximize search window, this window will be small.
I will fix it, but maybe there are alternatives to the plugins you use?Unfortunately, I am forced to use TCx32 also due to some 32b-only plugins

ha, I'm so old
it's hard for me to get used to new things. Unfortunately, the authors of some FS-plugins and utilities have disappeared.

Re: Small size of FindFiles window when starting LOADSEARCH with plugins
This user claims, that it happens only at DPI 150, but I have it at DPI 96 also.(the original message from Igor_A.)
TC32, Win10x84
1. Open FindFiles window, maximized (SearchMax=1), without plugins, by hotkey.
2. Search some files or folders.
3. Go to 1 found file by doubleclick.
4. Start FindFiles by hotkey again - window opens small as default, SearchMax will be 0.

Re: Small size of FindFiles window when starting LOADSEARCH with plugins
Indeed it doesn't depend on DPI.

Re: Small size of FindFiles window when starting LOADSEARCH with plugins
Can someone check this, please? It's quite easy to reproduce:
1. Start Total Commander 11.02 or older, 32-bit version only
2. Open menu Commands - Search, either via mouse or keyboard
3. If this dialog isn't maximized, maximize it
4. Make a search
5. Double click on a found file to go there
6. Open menu Commands - Search, either via mouse or keyboard
-> The window appears maximized first, but immediately switches to windowed mode (non-maximized)
Now repeat the same with Total Commander 11.03RC1
-> The window should remain maximized after step 6.

On which Windows version did you try it? It happens here every time on Windows 11.

I have tested these steps and created a video for TC 11.02 x86 to be on the safe side.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2024-01-21, 10:13 UTC Now repeat the same with Total Commander 11.03RC1

For me, the window remains in maximised state in TC 11.03RC1 x86 and x64, i.e. everything is fine for me.

Could you confirm the issue? Where is the video?tuska wrote: 2024-01-22, 11:58 UTC I have tested these steps and created a video for TC 11.02 x86 to be on the safe side.

What's wrong for you?
1. There was no bug for you in TC 11.02
or
2. There is still a bug for you in TC 11.03RC1?

I made a video for TC 11.02 x86 just to be able to understand this point:white wrote: 2024-01-22, 14:22 UTCCould you confirm the issue? Where is the video?tuska wrote: 2024-01-22, 11:58 UTC I have tested these steps and created a video for TC 11.02 x86 to be on the safe side.
I even reduced the playback speed in VLC media player, ghisler(Author) wrote: 2024-01-21, 10:13 UTC 6. Open menu Commands - Search, either via mouse or keyboard
-> The window appears maximized first, but immediately switches to windowed mode (non-maximized)
only to find that the window was first displayed maximised and only then immediately in the unmaximised state.
The video was only important for me to fully understand this point.
(The change from maximised to non-maximised takes place so quickly that it is barely perceptible to the naked eye).
In the end, the decisive factor is that the window is no longer displayed in the maximised state,
but in the non-maximised state.
My full name is visible in the video (~10 seconds), i.e. if you absolutely insist and want to have a video
I can shoot the video again and upload it to OneDrive.
