Welcome to mysteries world of underground Siemens! %)))
p> That's because it has lowered price (marketing action of the mobile operators).
Yep, and 75th series is already here... What operator do you use, BTW - LMT or TELE2?
p> Personally I use this midlet for reading books. Very neat!
Forget about TequilaCat - MicroReader is not just a bookreader but editor, you can make notes, dial numbers and send SMS, download books from Inet, it supports ZIP archives and screen rotation. If you like Commander you would definitely appreciate MicroReader. And if you have GPRS (you should have), you can be in ICQ via Jimm even taking your bath (ask Jedi %).
p> Thank you for this article, I got a lot of new information.
Believe me, that's just a beginning, just a beginning...[/face]
c> Will you release an english version of the PlugIn?
Author of this tool does not read this forum, though English language support planed in future - you should thank him for having this plugin at least in Russian.
It's the USB cable driver: the USB connection emulates COM-Port as Black Dog stated here.

Your are teasing me - thats the same thread and there is no location to download drivers
Talking about cables, there are two types of USB cables for Siemens mobile phones - DCA 510/512 (with clones like yours) and DCA 540 (you can actually do it yourself, it's quite simple). The former is COM/USB, i.e. it connects to phone's COM interface - this one is versatile, you can use it for SW update, patches and file transfers. The latter one is USB/USB, i.e. it connects to phone's USB interface. You can use it only for files transfer
I said mine is usb/usb - any chnace to get the usb/com emulated ??

Not at all. It's only a link to the statement, that the Siemens USB-driver emulates a COM-Port.

Sorry, I don't have any Siemens Mobile at all. It's only that (I think) I understood the concept.

You should install the driver provided by Siemens for your DCA 540. This driver redirects the connection from USB to a virtual COM-Port thus you may use it like a COM-Port cable.
Although I have no mobile I installed it anyway and the setup screen told me about a vritual COM-Port that is now installed for my DCA 540.
Hope that helps

That's not my problem - if you don't like my language, don't read my posts. No one owes you anything here, if you can't perform basic operations with your hardware and software or even can't ask questions that can be answered - that's, one more time, you personal problem.
t> which driver - never got one and its usb/usb orginal siemens
One more time, I can't see your cable name/index from Odessa, Buenos Aires is pretty far away, and I don't have any desire to read your mind for such a insignificant reason. So if you want to get any help from me, tell me that cables name/index, that's what you have to do from the beginning instead of screaming "Help!!! Help!!!".

Well, LMT, why?

Oh yeah, MicroReader is really nice, I switched to it.

I do not use ICQ and my phone is not waterproof, so bath is too much for it...
