Sorry, the only solution I can offer you is to use Lister standalone. Closing the process should unload the dlls.

The offer is clear, but it doesn't suit me, since I need the built-in player more for Ctrl+Q.
In this case, I'd prefer to use vlister or another wlx plugin.

Unfortunately I cannot find anything wrong on my side, so as long as I cannot reproduce it, there is no chance for me to find the reason of your problem.

I understood you. Please fix it:

Added.
I think it's unnecessary:
The LAV filtersr filter above ...
The xy-VSFilter filter above ...

OK, updated.
Btw, in RC3 the playback of the audio should stop now even when the filters don't get unloaded.

By the way, the original poster's message here highlighted a bug that has been successfully fixed.
Only a second part of this thread contents belongs to the "Behaviour which will not be changed" warehouse.
A bit of a misleading situation for a user who ever would be reading the front page of the topic.

It wasn't due to a bugfix in Total Commander, they just had to install the right codecs - so nothing was changed to fix their problem.

The sound continues to play as before.

You are right, I'm only calling stop when it's in paused state! I will fix it.

For the threads not ending, are you perhaps running graphedit in the background? It can connect to a running graph and prevent its destruction.

OK.

I've never used GraphEdit. And, of course, when testing, I wouldn't create an additional obstacle in the form of other media programs.

In RC4, the sound is interrupted. But then how will the user identify the problem with the increased load of the process? The presence of sound was already an indicator.
Maybe there is an opportunity to inform the user about this in some other way?

There was already no sound when you let the video end. If you just watch one or two videos, the extra load isn't a problem, at least far less than a track playing on forever which you can't stop.

I close most of the videos before I finish watching them, especially considering the unnecessary credits.
Threads related with DSOUND.DLL, quartz.dll and especially LAVSplitter.ax continue their activity, adding up to 6% of the load.

I'm releasing all interfaces to I don't see any reason why this is happening to you only. There are no commands to force-unload the threads.

Well, if they are implemented in other programs, then there is such a possibility. However, I'm not talking about that, but about this:

I don't think the latest fix has reduced the load.
