[TC 11.x] Incremental file/folder name suggestions in Preferences edit boxes

Post by *Helix751 »

For file/folder selection edit boxes in Preferences dialogues, the boxes could help file/folder selection by displaying an incremental suggestion list, as other operation dialogues do, like the Copy dialogue, for instance.

This would help speeding file names selection/specifying, for eg. the External editor file name o Associate with edit box in TC's Preferences>Edit/View>External Viewer>Associations... where it's much faster to start writing a file name or folder's path than browsing through the disk's folder structure. And also other file/folder selection boxes.

Sergio

You most likely refer to the Autocomplete feature of edit fields. I didn't miss it so far (once an external editor is set I won't touch it again), but I can see the benefit. Once enabled, such fields will also support Ctrl+Backspace by default.

There are indeed more than just the External viewer/editor fields. Think about the external Associations dialogue, for instance.

But you got the idea and yes, you're right.
