How Total Commander counts running instances?

Post by *petee »

Hello!
Recently I had Double Commander (DC) running and next opened Total Commander. It started with [2] instance counter in title bar instead of having no counter at all.
Same does not happen if Total Commander (TC) is already running, then DC is started and after that next instance of TC is started. Also does not happen if some other new instances of DC are started in a meantime.
Only if DC is started before TC. And Only affects this very first TC instance.

Looks like Double Commander in this scenario is considered as one of Total Commander instances. Is Double Commander a Total Commander in disguise?

TC enumerates instances by looking for "TTOTAL_CMD" window class, which DC also uses for plugin compatibility.
