[OT] Problems with Google?

Post by *SanskritFritz »

Hi all, sorry for being so silent, but was on vacation, and now i have to work like crazy... but at least i read the forum faithfully :-)

Does anyone know what happened with GMail and Google in general? Are they under attack or something?
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Interesting, for me GMail was not working (still isnt) the whole day :-(
Search for "gmail problems" on google, you will see what i mean. Blogs are filled with reports of GMail not working.

google.com, gmail.com and my POP gmail account all works perfect for me, using Mozilla 1.7.11 for both browsing and pop-mail.

Must be something with your FF configuration (though have no idea what exactly, security settings?)...
GMail works fine for me too on FF 1.0.6.

After experiencing a little, i found out, that from home, without the company firewall but the same laptop, i can connect ok. So i would say, that my company blocks my traffic to gmail and update.mozilla.org, but only from FF, because both are perfectly readable from IE. This is really strange...

Ok, my mistake
Here is the solution, just if anyone is interested:
After I realized, that only the https:// sites are blocked, i checked my proxy settings, and found out that the checkbox "Use the same proxy for all protocols" wasnt checked, and only the HTTP proxy was filled out, eeeeerrm...
Thanks all for the willingness to help!
