Remember folder name draft when creating a new folder

When creating a new folder, the "New folder (directory)" dialog allows one to input a new name or select one from the drop-down list containing previously used names. Entries from this drop-down list can also be selected using the keyboard up- and down- arrow keys.
If I want to edit an earlier part of the new directorie's name, I use the left- arrow key to navigate there. Sometimes it happens that I hit an up-/down- arrow key instead of the left- arrow key. The dialog then selects one of the earlier names from the drop-down list and disregards my new entry.
Then I am unable to restore my previously entered new directory name [using up-/down- arrow keys] but instead have to tipe it in all again manually.

Would it be possible for the "New folder (directory)" [F7]-dialog to additionally remember my newly typed in directory name and remember this, as if at the top of the drop down list, so that I can regain this simply by using the up-arrow key again [pressed as many times as the down-arrow key beforehand...]?

I.e.

- totally new name <- this is new
- old name 1
- old name 2
- old name 3

If one selects an old name and edits it, then this can become the new name entry...

In addition this would mean, that one cannot select an old name using the up-arrow key when entering a new name. Currently it selects "old name 1" regardless of whether one presses the up- or down-arrow key.

Best regards.
