Support for Android 15 private space

TC cannot transfer files to the private space or to the regular space.
At the moment we need to use the native app "Files" to initiate the transfer. It's initiated through Sharing. An app needs to be selected and there's a tab to choose from which space the recurring a receiving app is. Selecting an app different space causes the file to be transferred.

TC can receive the file, but the sharing on TC doesn't allow to choose an app of another space.

My phone does not have this "private space", is this a Pixel thing? I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e, it has a "Secure folder" which is using Samsung DeX. To my knowledge, you can't transfer files between Samsung DeX and the regular file system.

It's not a pixel thing. It's an Android 15 thing. Maybe you don't have Android 15 yet or Samsung killed it in your phone in favour of its Secure folder. I'm referring to an official Android feature. Something that will be widespread and standard in the Android ecosystem soon.

Here is a picture of an image being shared. Notice the tabs to select apps from different spaces, right above the app list.

These options only show up if the private space is unlocked. Otherwise, it looks as in previous android versions.

Interesting, it looks like Google is trying to implement something like Samsung Dex. I will have a look at it.

Thanks!

Total Commander is the best android file manager out there, imho. This is going to be an integral part of Android going forward. I hope you can make it work.

I'll test it for you if you need it. In this case, send me an email, as I don't check the forum very often.

I'm currently using my own share dialog because the official one doesn't let the user choose between sharing as a file: url or a content: url. Many newer apps only accept content urls, but as their name implies, they only contain the file contents, not the file location. Therefore apps like gallery can't switch through all available photos after getting a content url, but can when getting a file: url.

I'm not sure if the platform dialog is needed for this, but if it is, maybe you can add an option on yours to open with the system's default sharing dialog?

Let me know if you want me to test anything.

Is there anything I can do to help? Sideload anything you may want to test?

I did, in February. I don't know if I should send it again to make it easy for you to find or if you just need time, I don't want to be annoying.

I'm sorry, Total Commander for Android has been in an unusable state since then because I'm currently adding several new functions. Now that Total Commander 11.51 for Windows is out, I have a bit more time to work on the Android version.
