How to stop autorefresh/autosorting files in real time

Post by *ikswezclam »

Hi,

Sometimes I have to manually modify file names, it is very annoying when after changing the name TC automatically positions the file according to the alphabetical structure of the name, is it possible to somehow turn off automatic refreshing and sorting, in real time?

Hi,

Configuration > Refresh...
🔲 Refresh when files are created, deleted and renamed

Yes, that's right.
I'm sorry. :(

Unfortunately, I don't know of any other solution at the moment.

The trick is to NOT leave rename mode until you're done renaming the files you want to rename:
Instead of pressing ENTER after changing the name, press the up or down arrow to go to the next file you want to rename. The files don't get resorted until after the rename box is closed.

Thanks for that trick, I need to secure the enter key like a rocket launch trigger because the reflex to press it is uncontrolled.

If I use alt+tab it leave rename mode and sort files. However, this trick doesn't work in my case.

If you need to rename 5 files, why press ENTER 4 extra times with the accompanying update, if you can press it 1 time at the end (and launch 5 rocket at once)?
