Re: lister not showing avif images with spaces in the filename
This time, I tried renaming an AVIF image with the 'self-invented' extension MPG2, while MPG is a video format (and pointing that "additional Irfanview/Xnview type" to it).
Then the same problem occurred as with AVIF and its 'cousin' AVI (also a video format).
So I guess it may have something to do with that 'video codec' counterpart of both.
Note that those still display correctly in all cases in the Lister when I put it anywhere onto the other drive (D), no matter if I use spaces or not in the filename/path.

Re: lister not showing avif images with spaces in the filename
I guess that is has something to do with the fact that if the extension of a filename is more than 3 characters, then the 8.3DOS extension will be cut off to be 3 characters so "something something.mpg2" becomes someth~1.mpgSo I guess it may have something to do with that 'video codec' counterpart of both.

Re: lister not showing avif images with spaces in the filename
I have looked at the sources, and there I'm apparently converting from long name to short alias name when the path contains one or more spaces. It must have been due to a bug in older Irfanview versions. Since this is no longer a problem, I will remove that conversion. The conversion indeed changes the .avif extension to .avi, so Irfanview assumes that it's an AVI video...

Great, thank you. Hopefully, the 'N.U.T.S.' are effectively gone, and maybe we can eat some real nuts instead...

Re: lister not showing avif images with spaces in the filename
In the past, there has actually been a kind of bug in another software, sharing pretty good similarities with this 'AVIF bug' :
'OpenOffice does not print on Tuesdays' bug :
https://www.google.com/search?q=OpenOffice+does+not+print+on+Tuesdays+bug
See also : https://gigazine.net/gsc_news/en/20260130-open-office/
Freely quoted from this article :
Technically, it sounds more like : "your car won't start only when you buy vanilla ice cream" or "your PC wakes up from sleep mode when you change clothes in your room".
Back in time, OpenOffice on Linux (e.g. Ubuntu) turned out to refuse to print on Tuesdays, though all other days of the week were fine.
This bug finally was fixed in 2009.
Perhaps, we can draw some insights and/or conclusions from this stuff...

Re: lister not showing avif images with spaces in the filename
This should be fixed in Total Commander 11.58 RC4, please test!
12.06.26 Fixed: Lister: Do not convert path sent to Irfanview/Xnview to DOS (8.3) name format when the path contains a space, the long name seems to work fine now (32/64)

Re: lister not showing avif images with spaces in the filename
On my configurations, everything passed successfully with AVIF (+ JXL, WEBP).
The problem does not show up anymore.
Tested with TC 11.58 RC4 x64 (on Win 11 24H2 and Win 10 ESU).
Thank you.
