OMG where have you been all this time?

Post by *cmd4ever »

Old timer here, faithful to what I use when it works. So my file manager of choice was X-PLORE until now.
It was simple and efficient when it came out. Now it's "totally" bloated pun intended

- Last week I made the switch from Servant Salamander to TC on my PC;
- Yesterday, lazy me, I candidly ask without checking if I could use one of my PC license to run full fledged TC on Android; No need, TC is Free.
- Today I installed TC on one of my Android device;
- Look nice but there is no LAN option... Wait... There IS a plugin for that... And it WORKS;
- Toyed with the product few minutes - It's slick, it's simple, it works and it isn't bloated...
- WAOW! Bravo @Christian Ghisler and team

Confession: I work in a relatively tight corporate environment. Until recently benign non certified portable software were tolerated on desktops.
But we deployed a strict app control tool early this year. It didn't take long for me to get a popup "Software POLICY Violation" when I clicked on my Servant Salamander icon. Then the same popup with Everything. CRAP. Few minutes later, I got a call from the incident handling team.

"Hello sir, have you read your acceptable use of technology policy recently? Take these two things out of your computer. You will not get a second warning. And oh btw, did you know we certified TC and FileLocator Pro?"

No sir, Yes sir, I will take them out right now and fill the form to get TC and FL installed. Thank you for your service sir. LOL

Following this, I told myself. Why not make the move at home as well. So I bought my TC licenses. I kept Everything at home though. FileLocator Pro is heavy, slow and unstable.

Thanks for your interesting feedback! Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to control FileLocator Pro like "Everything".

:mrgreen: my OG combo didn't integrate together. So I got used to play with them separately.
I don't mind TC not controlling FL. I would not even ask for it in a feature request/suggestion.
