[TC 11.57rc4] Lister in hex view - End key puts cursor on last byte instead of last character

Post by *white »

(I mentioned this issue earlier here.)

Test file (save as .b64 and double-click in TC):

Code: Select all

MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name="cursortest.txt"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="cursortest.txt"

RVhJRkxORwBydQEBAAAAAQAAJAAAANCo0LjRgNC40L3QsCDQuNC30L7QsdGA0LDQtg==
  • Open the test file in Lister
  • Enable hex view
  • Change Encoding to 65001
    The view looks like this:

    Code: Select all

    00000000: 45 58 49 46 4C 4E 47 00|72 75 01 01 00 00 00 01 EXIFLNG ru.. .
    00000010: 00 00 24 00 00 00 D0 A8|D0 B8 D1 80 D0 B8 D0 BD $ Ширин
    00000020: D0 B0 20 D0 B8 D0 B7 D0|BE D0 B1 D1 80 D0 B0 D0 а изображ
    00000030: B6

  • Enable the cursor if it is hidden (F6)
  • Place the cursor on the second line
  • Press the End key
The cursor is to the right of the н character.
Expected cursor position: On the н character.

The End key places the cursor on the last byte instead of the last character. So the cursor is placed inside a multi-byte character when such character is at the end of a line and all bytes of the character are displayed at the left on the same line.
Press Ctrl+Home, Down, End, Shift+Left, Shift+Right, Shift+Left, Shift+Right. You see that half of the bytes of the character is selected.

Tested TC 11.57rc4a 64-bit.

Changelog:
17.04.26 Fixed: Lister, hex view with codepage 65001: bad cursor movement at the end of the file (cursor down), at the end of some lines with multi-byte characters (cursor left or end key) (32/64)
Test result:
Tested OK
