Error in packadged file .rar

Hi..

.. on a freshly installed stystem i get 'Error in packadged file .rar' error when trying to open/browes a .rar packadge!?

TC is v11.56 (Newest)
Also new WinRAR 7.21 is installed..

On my old system it works just fine.. !?
TC v9.22a and WinRAR v6.11


Whats wrong here .. im beeing bussy for hours figuring out

Can you give me more details, please? TC v11.56 still includes the WinRAR 7.20 DLL. There isn't any known problem opening RAR files with it.
1. Did you modify a RAR archive with WinRAR 7.21? It has a known bug where it damages solid RAR4 archives, which was fixed in 7.22.
2. Maybe the file you tried to open is broken? Please have a look at it with F3 and check whether it starts with the letters "Rar!".

2. When looking at it with F3 it does start with Rar! and its not broken as winrar does open and exrtracts the file correctly!?

Can you send me the download URL to cghisler at gmail dot com, please? It's strange that WinRAR would recognize a file but the unrar.dll from the same author would not.

It wont open/browse with TC on this fresh installed system.. even after downloading and installing WinRAR
On my old system it opens and browses with TC alone

I just uninstalled 7.21 and installed 7.22

Stil the same error..

By the way.. im on Win10 LTSC IoT ! Maybe thatsworth a note as its a stripped down win10!?

You are not supposed to use F3, but just press Enter or double-click on the file and TC wil open it as any other directory - unless you have disabled "Configuration" -> "Packer" -> "Treat archives like directories" and "Use internal un-RAR if possible"

It is possible to open the file in WinRar with Alt+F3 if you add winrar manually to the [Extensions] section in you wincmd.ini file

Still getting the error when trying to open/browse with enter of double click..

Thanks for the file. I had no problems opening it with Enter.
Are you able to open other RAR archives? If yes, can you press Alt+Enter on a file in that RAR archive and post the content of the "Packer" field?

For your test archive it shows "rar4", which means that it is handled by the internal unpacker (unrar.dll).
It's possible that you have a packer plugin installed which tries to handle the file, but fails.

Apart form having to go through several porn picture pages when downloading <link removed by moderator>/Black.Myth.Wukong.CRACKFIX-voices38.rar I had no problems opening it in TC either.

To rule out any misconfiguration of your TC, try this:

In TC's command line (if not enabled it can be opened by pressing Shift+RightArrow) write:

Code: Select all

%COMMANDER_EXE% /i="%COMMANDER_INI_PATH%\test.ini

and pres Enter - This will start a new instance of your TC with default settings
Now try and see if you can open your test file by pressing enter on it
