Add more options to the 'same filename' dialog?

Is there any way to add more options to this box? like 'Autorename Target Files', that is the option I always use the most and it is not visible even when there is space for at least one more button there...

In case of text file transfer, there is no place since the Append button is added (so there are 9 buttons).
But I agree that some of submenu commands are used more often then direct commands in dialoque, e.g. autorename (both) or compare.

A long time ago I suggested some changes to the Replace dialog box:
1/ Make all buttons visible
2/ Divide the buttons into two groups: critical and non-critical (destructive and non-destructive)
3/ change the ">" hotkey shortcut to a letter, because the > character is unaccessible on keyboards in other languages.

But I doubt the author will make any changes. I recommend to learn and use hotkeys so you can easily use your frequently used commands. E.g. for autorename target you press ">" and then "g" (english language). In other languages there can be problem with ">" key. I had to remapped it in my case.

critical (destruct original):

overwrite
overwrite all
overwrite all older
overwrite all older and same name
copy all larger
copy all smaller

non-critical (do not destruct original):

skip
skip all
cancel
rename
append
autorename copied
autorename taget
rename existing
rename older
compare

All those are nice suggestions.

And you are right, in my spanish keyboard for > I need to use shift, so it's a bit cumbersome.

Total Commander being such an awesome configurable tool, I thought maybe there would be some sort of hidden configuration setting for this I wasn't aware of.

There are many different ways this buttons issue could be solved. It always go back to the same philosophy: giving the customers/users the choice to customize the program in the way that suits them better.

the buttons are not configurable, but their hotkeys are. Therefore I suggest to use (eventually configure) the hotkeys of buttons. I replaced ">" hotkey by "a" and for autorename I use key sequence: "a" and "a". Very practical. The only disadvantage is that if you install new version (which replaces language file), you must make change of hotkeys again.

open lng file of your language e.g. in notepad and search for items: 13=, 1548=, 1549=,1599= or other related if needed. In these texts make changes according your preferences (& sign determines hotkey). Be careful not to have the same hotkey for two different buttons in the dialoque or for two different commands in submenu. Save file, reopen tc and test results.

I use it in the default english, and I see a bunch of of .lng files for many languages in c:\totalcmd\LANGUAGE\ but there isn't one for english?

Correct. wcmd_eng.lng, the external English language file, is not included in the Total Commander installers.
