If XNView is able to show the thumbnail, then TC should be able too with the help of XNView. See Options / Thumbnails / Get from Irfan-/Xnview for: [filetype]
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Oh, why is your EDIT before the old post, it confused me.
Can I download a file of this type from somewhere for experimenting?

oh, sorry about the 'edit' confusion!

btw, i really appreciate your help

here's one skb file that xnview DOES see a thumbnail with, i just tried it:

http://www.sketchup.com/forum/download.php/2,6832/santa_02.skb

in TC it just shows up as the default icon, not the thumbnail
and in XN it shows up as the embedded thumbnail perfectly.. a picture of santa..

wow..

why does my xnview see the thumbnail then?

could it have something to do with the fact that Sketchup is installed on my machine?

im using latest official xnview 1.80.3 i think

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

:) Hello !
- Add in your <wincmd.ini> :

[Lister]
IviewAdditionalTypes=*.skb

Close ¦ restart TC
then you will see the file as thumb-nail in TC too…

  Kind regards,
Claude
