explorer replacement

Post by *janrif »

Does anyone know if <Windows>e is hardwired to call Windows Explorer? I've tried to re-set that key combo via Power Pro w/o luck. Want to work around MS Explorer if possible. TIA

This shortcut is bound to the Explorer shell, not Windows Explorer.

You can disable all Windows+X shortcuts but Windows+L and Windows+U by setting the key:

Code: Select all

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoWinKeys"=dword:1
Alternatively use AutoHotkey instead of PowerPro. It offers a keyboard hook and can reassign Windows+E and other hotkeys without any problems.
