Missing right click menu (context menu) entries in 64 bit Windows versions (XP and Vista)

Problem

Context menu entries are provided by shell extensions. These shell extensions are dynamic link libraries (DLLs). DLLs can be either 32 bit oder 64 bit. Windows 64-bit versions can run both 64 bit and 32 bit programs but 32 bit programs can only load 32 bit DLLs and 64 bit programs can only load 64 bit libraries. You have probably installed a 64 bit shell extension. Total Commander is a 32 bit program.

Solution

If the creator of the shell extension provides a 32 bit version install this version in addition to the 64 bit version. This should solve the problem.
