I am a little mystified here. - what is the purpose of this site - what can it do that can't be done on the phpBB Board??

It's like a lexicon for Total Commander: You can write articles about features, frequently asked questions etc, and everyone can edit/correct them. In a forum, you cannot edit other people's posts, it's more like a discussion. So in a forum you may find the same information, but it's not structured well.

OK - but I miss references here- For instance: I can't see who wrote the chapter before ("It's like a lexicon...") - so how can I know whether it is written by somebody that I can rely on or not.

This seems really to require a lot of discipline from the users - otherwise it can really end up in complete chaos. And the risk of intentional malicious writings (spam, junk etc.) seems obvious.

But Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Hi, my suggestion for the main page is a link to the "German Total Commander Wiki" or Total Commander Wiki -deutsch (Missing). Is it a good Idea to place the links on the main page ? Another idea I have: To put some more TC-Screenshots into here and place a link on the TC-homepage to the Total Commander Wiki. I think about ALL the features in Total Commander under a neutral XP-Style with a white background. Stance 20:17 12.05.2005 MEZ

Hi, Don´t know where to put in "Tabbed browsing"-"Internal Functions" or "Look and feel" ? Stance 20:44 13.05.2005 MEZ

--Icfu 18:50, 13 May 2005 (EST) Internal Functions. Look and Feel is for GUI stuff, replacing drive libraries, menu, bars, etc... You can add your signature in the tool box above, second symbol from the right.

--Stance 09:19, 14 May 2005 (EST) I would like to have the link to the "German Total Commander Wiki". What´s the place for: "Layout": Configuration, Command line, fonts..? Does Christian have any TC-Screenshots for the Wiki??

--Icfu 09:35, 14 May 2005 (EST)
Added About category for stuff like screenshots, history, general info about TC, the forum, etc... Moved your history.txt link there. I will add a link to screenshot thread in forum to Screenshots first. No idea about offical screenshots.

There is no German Wiki till now besides the test Wiki from Lefteous. As we now have an offical Wiki it's no good idea to split the user base and contributions on two separate sites. It's better to use this Wiki as a start point and translate articles in the future to different languages if needed.

The new Configuration category collides with Look and Feel, maybe we have to change that soon and find a better solution.

What's wrong with === Available categories === subcategory? Horizontal bars should only be used sparely to logically separate sections, is this really needed here? Physically formatting logical elements of a site like headers is bad style, I will restore it, don't be offended please.

--Stance 13:26, 14 May 2005 (EST) Subcategory should´t appear bigger than title...you may change === Title ===. I tried to get the horizontal bar away, now I see how you did it.

--Icfu 13:39, 14 May 2005 (EST)
It has never been bigger than the title and it isn't now, what do you mean? Title "Main Page" is <h1>, "Welcome to..." is <h2> and "Available categories" is <h3>. Your browser decides how these logical HTML elements are displayed. If <h2> is displayed bigger than <h1> in your browser maybe you are using a bad stylesheet or have some other configuration problem.

--Stance 06:25, 15 May 2005 (EST)I just installed "Maxthon" to view that Wiki. Looks better, maybe a mistake with my Mozilla-Cache. Not unimportant to view the Wiki with different browsers. I allways edited the Wiki with "Mozilla", cleaned it up and for example the link to "TCFullHistory at Ghisler" works today the first time."Available categories" appears still in bold with MY Mozilla. I would still change "== Welcome to the Total Commander Wiki! ==" into: === Welcome... ===, but hey, I dont want to bring any chaos in here. I like the design of the Mainpage! I recognized "Hacker" links into the Wiki "WdxInfoPacker", but is not present under "WDX". Search for "WdxInfoPacker" is succesfull, search for "WDX" is not in this case. Maybe "Hacker" should save it under: "WDX Infopacker" with a freespace in it. So the search could find it. Do you know how to put invisible search-terms on pages? Let´say "Tabbed_browser" like "Search: TAB & TABS"? I think it use to stay under "Summary"
