On the official site you can find instructions for some specific tasks:

The English versions of above Beginners and Advanced tutorials and the FAQ as of April, 2004 were compiled to PDF and DOC formats for offline reading by user pdavit and available on totalcmd.net.
Unofficial tutorials
Clo's General Tutorial
User Clo maintains a tutorial which is based on the official help file. One of its features is an included screenshot for direct navigation to the descriptions of the TC features. Furthermore it contains information not available in the official documentation like missing INI-entries for example. The tutorial is up-to-date in English and French and available in HTML and CHM format.

User pdavit wrote an MS Word document for mastering Total Commander Directory Hotlist.
