Find Files dialog: use Custom Viewer / Editor
I set PSPad Editor as the default viewer for TC. It works fine from TC, but not from Find Files dialog. From Find Files dialog after pressing F3 the internal viewer is always opened.

Unfortunately find files currently doesn't support any external viewers or editors, sorry. The problem is that they could modify the search results this way...

You could for example change file date or change the content. (In extended search you can search by date and with some plugins you can search by content.)Hi, why did the viewer could modify the search results?
Support++; (for allowing direct File edit)I could easyly rightclick to the file and call open notepad.
If a user want to find files and chooses to modify one, than he already know about this file and if its relevant for him or not. So its no problem that the search is possible outdated.
Please!?
Re: Custom Viewer
Can we review this feature once again? It's 2021, a lot of editors can do a lot of great things, but the built-in viewer is not so great. I found using notepad++ is very useful as a custom viewer. You can actually run it in read-only mode, thus it will not clobber with possible Find window results:
Please?
Code: Select all
notepad++.exe -nosession -multiInst -notabbar -noPlugin -ro "%1"
